For more bespoke funeral tributes we ask for as much notice as possible, with a minimum of 5 working days preferred, to allow us time to source and create the unique floral tribute design.

What details will you need?

There are some basic details required for the funeral flowers, to ensure we can create and deliver them safely.

  • Preferred colours or flowers to use

Which flowers are best for funeral flowers?

Some of the most popular flowers to use for funeral tributes include;

  • Lilies. The white lily is most commonly associated flower for funerals as they symbolise innocence and sympathy.
  • Roses. A beautiful flower available in many colours, white roses symbolising purity, red roses symbolising love and yellow symbolising friendship.
  • Carnations. A long-lasting flower with very subtle scent and array of colours, making Carnations a great choice for arrangements.

However if your loved one had a favourite flower such as tulips, daffodils, dahlias or sunflowers, or a favourite colour, then let our florists know and we can include this where possible. It can be so lovely to incorporate a favourite flower or colour in the funeral design to make it more personal.

What is a bespoke funeral tribute?

A bespoke funeral tribute is a one-of-a-kind floral design, created by our expert florists especially for your loved one. This might represent their beloved football team shirt, letters to spell out a name or nickname, a hobby or pastime, favourite food or a special memory. We use fresh flowers, foliage and accessories such as ribbon to create these special tributes in 2D or 3D. Due to the detailed work required for a bespoke funeral tribute, we ask for 5 working days notice when ordering if possible.

You can view some examples of past designs our talented florists have created of bespoke floral tributes here.

Susan’s Flower Shop has over 50 years’ experience creating bespoke funeral tributes and funeral flowers. It is an honour for us to design such personal flowers to help you say farewell, and we take every care when creating the tribute and ensure the flowers are safely delivered to the funeral home or crematorium.

What funeral flower design should I pick?

There is no right or wrong when choosing funeral flowers, as it is such a personal choice. Generally we would recommend that bigger funeral tributes such as coffin sprays, letter tributes and bespoke tributes are ordered by close family.

Posies, wreaths and sheaves are a good option for friends and colleagues to send for funeral flowers.  All our funeral flowers are sent with a message card, so you can include some lovely words and who the flowers are from.

If you have any questions whilst trying to decide which funeral flowers to pick, please get in touch with Susan’s Flower Shop team – we are here to help.
